Alteration of Gut microbiota during HIV infection

چکیده
Gut flora is the community of microbial populations that live in intestine. Approximately 30% this population shared by all humans, but remaining 70% unique to each individual, hence gut microbiota serves as an identity card. play numerous functions body's defense against invasion, synthesis important vitamins, regulation immunological marker production, and others. Researchers observed several data when analyzing bacteria species present HIV-infected individuals using 16S rRNA sequencing approach, concluding people had a high number Prevotella species, while Lachnospiraceae, Christensenellaceae, Ruminococcaceae, Bacteroidaceae were less. Those shifts may help explain how gut-related disorders interact with HIV. have discovered various methods for altering composition order achieve healthy gut. This review will focus on highlight recent discoveries during HIV infection emphasize immune response treatment options.

Alteration of the murine gut microbiota during infection with the parasitic helminth Heligmosomoides polygyrus.
BACKGROUND In a murine model of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), treatment of colitis in IL-10 gene-deficient mice with the parasitic helminth Heligmosomoides polygyrus ameliorates colonic inflammation. The cellular and molecular mechanisms driving this therapeutic host response are being studied vigorously. One proposed mechanism is that H. polygyrus infection favors the outgrowth or suppress...

The precise effects of HIV-1 on the gut microbiome are unclear. Initial cross-sectional studies provided contradictory associations between microbial richness and HIV serostatus and suggested shifts from Bacteroides to Prevotella predominance following HIV-1 infection, which have not been found in animal models or in studies matched for HIV-1 transmission groups. In two independent cohorts of H...
متن کاملGut microbiota diversity predicts immune status in HIV-1 infection.
OBJECTIVE HIV-1 infection is characterized by altered intestinal barrier, gut microbiota dysbiosis, and systemic inflammation. We hypothesized that changes of the gut microbiota predict immune dysfunction and HIV-1 progression, and that antiretroviral therapy (ART) partially restores the microbiota composition. DESIGN An observational study including 28 viremic patients, three elite controlle...

Recurrent infections are very common in children and a major challenge for pediatricians. They affect the children’s quality of life, cause absences from school and lost parental working days, and repeated medical examinations, hospital admissions as well as antibiotic therapies lead to high costs for society. Given their prevalence and clinical importance, various prevention strategies have be...
